I didn't have any problems with Craft 1.4
As for Mini link Craft 2.0.1 there are some news. It has little bit different interface. But basic news is that fully support new baseline for Mini link TN. You cannot access TN with software above 3.3.6 if you don't have Craft 2.0.1

Btw, do you have access to any professional radio link planning tool like pathloss?
I tried to download pathloss 4.0 and that is ok, but unlocking is something else.

hello bro & sist, what is the latest ver for Minilink Craft for acces Minilink TN E*******? Should we used bpftp server if we want to load configuration, upload SW baseline or SW module (MMU2,NPU,LTU), now I use Minilink Craft 2.1. I f i'm not mistaken there is ftp server include in this package software. Yesterday, i have upgraded successfully SW baseline to R16A30 (MLTN 4.2FP Software Release) with result: LTU 155e release SW R5B01 with product no. CXCR 102 004/1, RAU1 N 7/48 release SW R3A with product no. CXC 132 2623. Base on e-doc MLTN 4.2FP Software Release, for LTU 155e module & RAU1 N 7/48 doesn't meet the minimum requirement of release SW, which for LTU 155e min release SW R3E02 & RAU1 N 7/48 R4A. Does anyone have the SW module R3E02 & R4A?

Yes, it`s mandatory to use the same baseline / module software on both terminals. All modules must have the same baseline like the NPU!
Try this...i know that E\\\ have big problems with the co-operations between MLTN hardware and the different software revisions.

Yes, I had the 'DCN Only' option enabled, not exactly knowing it's function. After short RTFM session I was much smarter, and disabling it made the problem go away. Well, error description could be a bit more descriptive :) - funny thing to note is: it was a problem only on newer firmware release - old MMU firmware worked fine anyway.

yu are new to TN and have not experience with other vendors...please tell me, wat kind of transmission you need, e.g pdh , sdh or ethernet?
Maybe then we can discuss about any vendors, like NERA,E*******,Ceragon,Huawei,Stratex...and so on.

P.S. What SW-Release do you use in ML-TN @ ofca? I observed, that 4.2FP have any problems in configuration with ethernet traffic over pdh if you use units like ETU3 and LTU12.

In my opinion is TN not the way to go for Ethernet traffic. Dor Ethernet transmission i use the IP10 from Ceragon. IP10 have a nodal function and less of software releases / license keys :D
The TN i use for PDH transmission, but for SDH i use 1500R from Ceragon because Ceragon have a HighPower RFU for lower frequencies which support XPIC in 6,8Ghz / 40Mhz channel spacing. TN doesn`t support XPIC in 40mhz channels. Only in 128 QAM / 28 mhz channels.

If you want to verify the current software baseline you can look under software upgrade the current NPU baseline package and under "View modules" you can see the current modul software. Or you save a report in *.htm file and open it with web browser. Then you can see the current config and sw revision.
To compare the running sw with a SBL please download this (http://www.4shared.com/file/250529751/eac9d9fd/ML-TN_43_ETSI_Compatibility.html) document.

If you have any questions, pls ask !

Speaking of ethernet transmission over mw radio, does anyone know how many traffic queues does TN have for QoS?
Most of the vendors have four traffic queues for 8 classes of service with fair or strict queueing, but I recently saw a request for eight. And I haven't seen any radio that supports it.

@byja

this is quotation from latest product description:

"All site LAN/WAN Ethernet ports can be configured with 1-8 traffic classes,
where 8 traffic classes are default.
The CoS priority information is used to map the Ethernet frames into the
1-8 traffic classes (TCs). The mapping can be done according to either
IEEE802.1D-2004, IEEE802.1Q-2005 or custom. Frames with no CoS
information is mapped to the default traffic class (TC0).
There are individual queues for each CoS. The Ethernet frames in the egress
queues are either scheduled according to a strict priority scheme or according to Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ).
See Section 3.7.5.7 on page 47 for more information on strict priority, and Section 3.7.5.8 on page 47 for information on WFQ."

Any problems that did occur, I know for instance that ML CT 2.5 is a bit slow when dealing with it so 2.7 is much more faster.

But I'm talking about any serious problems or unexplained behaviours

Sir,

i can say for me that i haven`t any behaviours at the moment with this software package because i didn`t test it very deep. This SW baseline was written to fix a bug with the power supply into AMM6.

And yes, you are right, ML Craft 2.5 is not the fastest LCT :p

I was thinking more about BER, or Tx off from links , unusual behaviour
I've seen it and was thinking its related to this SW but maybe not after all

Bassem,

do you mean the internal BER-Test? You can test with teh internal BER from one site to remote site against a internal MMU loop.
What is with TX off ? If the TX off at far end you have the possibility to switch it On from near site. This works only if your links is established.
I have found a bug into this SW - Release...I established a link and have the management over the 2x64kbit channels to remote site but this management connection goes up and down... strange behavior

Cheers !

I'm talking about strange behaviours like you mentioned with 2x64kbit channels

What I meant by Tx off, that after installing this SW in one of the link, the Transmitter went off by itself !!! (we did make it on again, but why did it happen ?? )

Hi Cost_Reducer, please send me "MINI-LINK Radio Unit Compatibility" to vinhbinh2tg@yahoo.com.vn

Hi XNAM,

please give me more informations about your placement of the plug-in units.
What kind of plug-in units are insert into AMM2p? Which kind of NPU?

Regards,

CR

Hi Xnam,

now i have a little bit time for your issue. R11F18 is baseline version 3.3.5. Please make sure that NPU2 SW habe SW version R10F18 and the MMU2 must have SW state R3D06.
No more units are insert into AMM? Only a 4x2Mbps link?
What is your modulation scheme? QPSK or QAM? Please note that MMU2B can use only in QPSK mode. Capacities over 50Mbps are not applicable for MMU2b.

regards,
