Dear all:

"The AMR Codec mode adaptation is based on a normalized one-dimensional measure of the channel quality, called the Quality Indicator. For reference purposes, the Quality Indicator is defined as an equivalent carrier to interferer ratio, C/Inorm. The MS and BSSs shall continously update the Quality Indicator estimates.
The Quality Indicator may be derived from an estimate of the current carrier to interferer ratio, C/Iest , or an estimate of the current raw bit error rate (BERest)."

Can anyone tell me the difference between C/Inorm and C/I that is shown in TEMS cellphone?

the tems mobile phone just report the C/I of downlink,i think.but this C/I is quite diffrent from the real sence, because the BTS have done many other functions, such as power control,DTX ect. thus ,when the BTS have received the reported C/I from your tems mobilephone, it consider all effective including power control/dtx/,enven hopping frequency, and giving the C/Inor finally.
