dear friends

this is a document about SPECTRUM SENSING ON LTE FEMTOCELLS FOR GSM SPECTRUM RE-FARMING USING XILINX FPGAs

ABSTRACT
Femtocells are a promising solution to provide high coverage
and high data rates inside consumer’s homes while cutting operator
costs significantly. Next generation Long Term Evolution
(LTE) femtocells are likely to be deployed in GSM spectrum,
increasing frequency utilisation and allowing a smooth
transition to LTE. This paper proposes to use a spectrum sensing
technique specialised for LTE signals to avoid interference
between neighbour femtocells without operator intervention.
Simulation results of the detection characteristics
are given. A demonstrator has been implemented on a Xilinx
ML507 Virtex 5 prototyping board, using our flexible FPGAbased
cognitive radio framework, which allows to use runtime
reconfiguration of the FPGA to switch between sensing
and normal operation. It demonstrates the sensing algorithm
on a real platform.

Designing an LTE network using EDX SignalPro

This white paper will describe how the many useful LTE tools and studies that are available in SignalPro can be used by the RF engineer to design a well performing LTE network. EDX® SignalPro® is the combination of EDX’s comprehensive line of wireless network engineering tools. It offers all of the study types you need to design a basic wireless network, including area studies, link/point-to-point studies and route studies. EDX SignalPro also incorporates the finest telecom-specific mapping features, meticulous equipment data storage capabilities and convenient utility functions. With the LTE-specific features and studies that have been included with the SignalPro Network Design Module, the RF engineer has a comprehensive suite of design capabilities. This white paper will show how these features and studies can be used to design an optimal LTE network

Designing LTE Ready Mobile Backhaul Networks

from ceragon

This paper provides guidelines for mobile operators who wish to plan a backhaul network based on Microwave to deliver the high capacities required for LTE. The paper further presents how this can be achieved without significant upfront investments while continuing to serve current 2G and 3G networks and requirements

In this paper we show how Native2 topologies (also referred to as Hybrid networks) help to manage the cost of the entire network life cycle. Additionally we will present a case study for building cost effective mobile backhaul at the access domain by taking advantage of Ethernet features and microwave capabilities
