Hi there.

I would like to know if someone can help me with this problem...

I have a laptop with Windows 7 x64 installed. It has no RS-232 port so I have to use a Belkin USB-TO-SERIAL converter.

It has the Prolific chipset so the x64 drivers are installed.

I can use it to connect to a Nokia UltraSite BTS so the adapter works fine but when I start the OMT P44A I'm unable to connect. OMT is configured to autoscan COM1&COM2 ports and the adapter is COM1.

Tried to force the app to run into compatibility mode with no results.
Same config and cables runs fine on a Windows XP SP3 32bits.

Anyone knows about a patch or update for this program to run under W7 x64?

Thank you very much.

did you try to run the same cable under W7 (XP Mode)?,in order to verify the source of your problem.

Thank you dane_2k2.

The problem is with Windows 7 x64. Have a dual boot installed with XP SP3 and 7.
In Windows XP all is running fine. In Windows 7 not.

Will try again today xD

Thank you.

What do you mean with that mate? ATEN?

it is a USB to Serial Converter. For me it is the best interface. No problem at all....

Oh... I see...

I use a Belkin adapter which seems to run fine... but the soft doesn't.

I tried with XP SP2 and admin privileges but doesn't work on Windows 7 x64.

It gives me an "Overlapped I/O operation error"

Any idea?

Thank you again!

Hi again.

Tried my new ATEN UC232A on Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate (both x86/x64) with same results: Overlapped I/O Operation is in progress... blah blah :(

Anyone knows how to solve this? Googled this error and seems to be an EventID:997 but no luck seeking for a solution...

Thanks all again!

Hi again.

Since the beginning all antivirus, firewall and other related stuff were disabled.
I've experienced some errors about using firewalls before xD

It still gives me the infamous error mentioned before... After all I coudn't make it work under W7 (x86 nor x64).

My last try will be a VMware virtual machine (x86). Hope this works...

Will keep you informed.

Thanks all for helping.

Dear all
I installed omt on Win7, it is working. when OMT connection is via USB to serial Convertor, you should set port no(COM1,COM2...) in OMT:OMT-->TOOLS-->OPTIONS-->COM port Number
you can find correct COM port number:Control Panel\System and Security\System:Device manager: Ports(COM&LPT)
