Mentum Ellipse 6.8 Announced at WiMAX World 2008
Latest Major Software Release Includes Platform, Microwave and Transport Module Improvements
CHICAGO - Oct. 2, 2008 - Mentum® announced today the release of Mentum Ellipse® 6.8, the latest version of its wireless backhaul planning solution. This major release includes a series of platform improvements, as well as enhanced microwave and transport planning features.
"Mentum Ellipse 6.8 continues to innovate in microwave engineering capabilities with features like adaptive modulation support and space diversity fine tuning," said Bernard Breton, head of sales and marketing, Mentum. "The release also includes platform improvements and support for Cyrillic characters along with a better integration with Mentum Planet®."
Improvements to the core microwave planning feature set target ease of use and automation of simple tasks. An advanced space diversity fine tuning function is now available that delivers enhanced management of radio equipment for adaptive modulation. The new release also supports the creation of links from line-of-sight (LOS) analysis results using station templates. Finally, a new "find path" feature is available that will search for the best available transport option (i.e., microwave, PDH, SONET) and will check for capacity needed on the selected route.
In Mentum Ellipse 6.8, the optional Transport Module now supports a logical view of the transmission network that can allow for the joint management of microwave and transmission links in the same window. Furthermore, network equipment can now be identified and links verified through IP addresses.
Core Mentum Ellipse platform enhancements in this release include native support for Mentum Planet formats, Windows Vista® compatibility and improved Google EarthTM export capabilities. Support for the Cyrillic character set includes key menus and typed entries in this alphabet.
Mentum is demonstrating Mentum Ellipse 6.8 at WiMAX World 2008 in Chicago, Stand 939.
