Cisco MGX8880 as an MSC and also as a G-MSC
Hello, Basically what we are trying to achieve is to setup a Cisco MGX8880 as an MSC and also as a G-MSC. We would be looking for all the normal GSM functionalities and connectivity to an SMSC. Basic access for voice/sms for handsets either via IP or via RF through roaming with an MNO. Is this something within your reach ? Regards,

I dont think that MGX8880 will help you with this.
MGX8880 is just a media gateway. To act as MSC you need at least Softswitch (Class5/Class4).
Media gateway is jist gateway between IP and TDM (between different) technologies.
If you read carefully from the document which you have attached you will find that this gateway will help to act gateway to your GSM/CDMA enviroment.

Yes, this is understood. We are looking for a way to add the components necessary.
That's why I sent off the note to the list hoping someone might have done this before.
I'll wait for your reply.
