Hi Guys;

I have case about dynamic code allocation as below;

in our network we are using RAN 11 and BTS3900,BSC6810 and there are two option about dynamic code allocation, the one is dynamic code allocation by RNC the other one is dynamic code allocation by Node-B. What is the difference between this, i mean what is the advantages and disadvantages of these?

And secon question;

If you make the parameter value "on" for DYNCODESW in Node-B side, is it true that no need to make code allocation is Automatic in RNC side for dynamic code allocation.

Please make a recommendation about this,

Thanks all of you
Kadir.

Hi,

If you configure NodeB Dyn Switch=off, HSDPA coded will be totally controlled from RNC (Manual or Automatic).

Not recommended to have NodeB DYN switch=ON and RNC side: Automatic code Allocation.

Best setup: NodeB DYN switch= ON, RNC: Manual with 1 code HS-PDSCH, this will give faster code resource management.

thanks.

hi sala,
any idea why node B controlled will give better result ? and why put manual with1 code at RNC ? perhaps you done trial before pls share..

Hi Tuka,

NodeB DYN switch on: for Faster code allocation.
Manual 1 Code: as the NodeB will habe full authority to control code tree.

thanks.

allright my friend,
maybe its because UE closer to NodeB than RNC :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :D

think you talk about hsdpa:

in old release hsdpa had fixed code allocations .. mean sf16 codes ... then this got variable for the number of sf16 codes for hsdpa scheduler .. still controlled by the rnc and in newer 3gpp releases this functionallity moved then to nodeb back again ...so reducing load in rnc and reducing scheduling latency for hsdpa service.

i propose you to use scheduling in nodeb when it works stable

The advantage of having DYN SWITCH feature on NodeB is that it relieves the RNC of the work of processing this algorithm, as this feature is an advancement towards 4G( Where all the RNC features will be embedded on the e-nodeB).

The second part of activating the DYN SWITCH on NodeB and having 5 codes manual on RNC will ensure that every UE has minimum 5 codes. Then the NodeB can dynamically shuffle upwards, depending on the requirements of the user. We have tested HSDPA in this scenario and the results are as good as having AUTOMATIC code allocation in RNC.

Code Number for HS-PDSCH = 5
User Number for Code Adjust for HSDPA = 3
Allocate Code Mode = Manual
