Has anyone heard of WiMax as LTE link backhaul? (or even implemented this?)
Any comment will be appreciated.
Thanks. :)

Using WiMAX to backhaul LTE is not a practical option due to the following:
1- Licensed WiMAX on 2.5 or 3.5 is a relatively expensive spectrum compared to other spectrum ranges intended for transmission (license exempt spectrum is not a realistic option to consider)
2- Throughput is a bottle neck here, channel width options are 3.5, 7 or 10 MHz, assume a 10MHz channel width this will give a throughput of 30Mbps talking about best scenario (i.e. ideal link conditions), the LTE is dimensioned to support 100/50 Mbps DL/UL, this is 1/5 the capacity needed for a fully aggregated LTE sector.
my two cents,

Agreed...
Microwave or fiber are the solution
