Folks,
I am confused in the interface term that they mention in UMTS architecture..
We call as Iub or Lub?..Because it always shows as lub,lur etc.

Iub - Interfase between Node B & RNC

IuR - Interfase between 2 RNC's

It is a capital "I" not a lowercase "l". All UTRAN interfaces begin with "I" for Interface.

It's just a name of interface in UMTS.

Iub, Iur, IuCS, IuPS : The "I" is "ai" not "eL"

Iub is interface WBTS(NodeB) to RNC
Iur is interface RNC and another RNC
IuCS is interface RNC to MGW
IuPS is interface RNC to SGSN

Another question: why Node-B called like Node-B? Where are another nodes gone?

Regarding the naming convention of NodeB for the UMTS base station. I believe that E******* did this in error and stuck with the nomenclature during the design phase in their UMTS architecture. No joke.... Please correct me if I am mistaken.
