instead of wimax 802.16e to fully adopt 802.16m, there is another option for wimax operator to choose TD-LTE for migration.

for operator using Huawei, seem very simple swithing to LTE. however the solution may only available later than FDD LTE.

But 16m is much more promising than lte tdd. its a wait and watch game as what may evolve first will have the best shot.

well actually add lte to default pwd..(8t4rmimoxlte)
if usefull pls add rep.. i need it.

well, 802.16m might be very competitive with LTE, hence we shall see which going to dominate..

hurraaa...

i'm open for discussion..
if wimax operator feel the LTE going to be the dominant 4G technology, they can switch to TD-LTE (using wimax spectrum they hold) but its going to be a bit later than commercial FDD LTE. at least they already secure the spectrum. so start expand wimax coverage and when time come (IF YOU WANT TO SWITCH TO LTE) , just do it.

in term of RAN, it is quiet simple for migration. some extra work needed on CORE NETWORK as you have to install additional NE (SAE,etc).may require down time.

How about UT/MS? These need to be swapped as well, alternatively to support dual mode! The chipset is going to take time to become available.
