what's actually channelised STM ? One of the E1 interface card that we have from ZTE vendor supports channelised STM-1 ? Is it different from the normal STM-1 ?

thanks in advance..

it is 63 E1 packed into one STM-1 interface.
To upper layer, this interface looks like 63 E1 interfaces, so you should threat them as
either PDH (31 times 64 TS) or ATM/E1 and do IMA etc.

Non-ch STM-1 takes (almost) all 155 Mbit/sec in one pipe.

CAn i have a channelized STM-1 containing only 4 E1's ?

Of course... We usually equip our super PDH radios with STM-1 interfaces only to avoid unnecessary cabling of E1s. So you can have 1 - 63 E1s over one pair of optical or electrical cables.

Does the channelized STM-1 contain the specific SDH overhead bytes?
It is possible to connect your super-PDH equipment to a MUX?

I think that a channelized STM-1 is a normal STM-1 that only contains VC12 containers...right?

Yes to all three questions.

ok, actually a normal STM-1 but with a new defined name:D
