Hi experts,

I have several voice tests with 2 different Nokia handsets. Both of them have performed IRAT handover WCDMA-GSM and GSM-WCDMA. When in GSM attached, UE sends an UTRAN Classmark Change message to the network, but they are different from one UE to another (both are Nokia). In one of them i can see:

measurementCapability :
downlinkCompressedMode :
fdd_Measurements : TRUE
gsm_Measurements :
gsm900 : TRUE
dcs1800 : TRUE
gsm1900 : TRUE
multiCarrierMeasurements : FALSE
uplinkCompressedMode :
fdd_Measurements : TRUE
gsm_Measurements :
gsm900 : TRUE
dcs1800 : TRUE
gsm1900 : TRUE
multiCarrierMeasurements : FALSE

but this info is not in UTRAN Classmark Change reported by the other Nokia handset. Does it mean this handset doesnt perform this kind of measurement?

Thanks in advanced.

I am not 100% sure, but the core network will be checking the UTRAN classmark to determine the UE capabilities that can support IRAT measurements. Hence, 2 different models of Nokia MS need not have identical capabilities. But they must have those crucial capabilities, i.e. can measure GSM and WCDMA channels using compressed mode.
