Dear Friends,

Could you please explain how to calculate BSRXMIN parameter in a cell.

Thanks

If adjacent cell BCCH is below BSRXMIN, try not to make handover to it.
I do not think this parameter should be used for traffic steering.

Value like -102 is fine: as handover takes some time, you might increase failed handovers
if going lower, higher might prevent some calls to survive.

Try it, check stats: I just wonder if statistically significant results can be obtained
with reasonable values.

Actually there is correlation between TRX configuration and BSRXMIN value since each combining will reduce 3dBm the value should calculate regard the configuration am i right?

Hi!

Yes, by setting TX power etc you might change DL power.
On the other hand, you have same terminal on uplink.
And different interference on uplink.
With DL, we control interference using frequency planning, on UL we do not.
So, IMHO, you can easily do more harm as good with BSRXMIN.

If needed, tune with handover hysteresis to move traffic.

It has been long, long time since I managed to make a call with
resonalbel quality on -104 dBm DL. Rural, no interference,
stable link with low fading.

There is a lot of related parameters. I prefer to keep them same
unless really necessary.

The only case I would increase BSRXMIN is if I have 100 W to antenna,
and then want to compensate in idle mode (ACCMIN) and handovers (BSRXMIN). I do not do 100 W, so ...

What exactly is your goal with handovers?

Thanks for your reply.
