It is for the WCDMA UMTS based backhaul links. There are a lot of technology options which include GPON, SDH, ATM, etc. I am particularly interested in the Ethernet Backhaul, both terrestrial and microwave based.

Hi firstmaxim,

here is a flexible solution for microwave backhaul. This is Ceragons RFU-HP which you can combine with various Indoor Units like IP10 for ethernet and 1500R for SDH signals. You can use it as all indoor or as split mount version up to N+1 or N+0. N can be up to 10 active channels. Maximum capacity in ethernet is 370Mbps in 1 channel with a channel spacing of 56Mhz / 256 QAM.

I have a nice presentation on 'LTE Backhaul' using Ethernet from Ciena. It covers backhaul technology comparison (MPLS, Ethernet-connetionless and connection oriented..), 2G/3G backhaul evolution path to 4G, while considering LTE backhaul objectives such as speed, clock synchronization, lower latency, backhaul support, etc.
