Aircom Height data

Hello!

Anyone, please help me.. how to prepare heights data for Aircom from hgt files? Aircom reguires coordinates in meters, SRTM hgt files are in degrees... After simple coordinate conversion i got message that file size is mismatching. Where is my mistake?

How r u converting SRTM hgt to height file format of Aircom ?

Method is simple coordinate conversion between degrees and meters with coordinate translator, ie Franson CoordTrans.. I dont find any specific tool for that. As i think, problem is in different resolution in meters for easting and northing, because one degree is different on the elipsoin in meters. But how i can solve this?

What other DTE file types are supported by Aircom - may be i can do gridding with GlobalMaper after conversion to UTM? Aircom description of that point is useless - they will get money from:(

My own answer to my own question.

1. Download SRTM data.
2. Convert with Global Mapper to UTM.
3. Export as GeoTiff with integer sample spacing, ie 50. Sample spacing MUST be SAME for x and y coordinates!!
4. With Aircom PowerTools convert *.geotiff to Aircom format. After conversion you will get *.bin and index.txt file.
5. Thats all!!

the projection file in dtm dir content:
GRS-1980

UTM

What should i set for Coord System, Map data directory Tab When I create new project??
